Title: MAZOL TOV BOY GEORGE FOR STANDING WITH THE JEWS
Post by: Rebbetzin on August 04, 2026, 09:52:02 AM
Hi everyone,

I am imagining that many of you would be amazed that I, a devout Christian woman would congratulate the singer, colourful Boy George on his recent stand in supporting the Jews of Israel and beyond.

To some, Boy George is not your average guy, he never has been and he’s charted his own course, sometimes erroneously and to his own admission, detrimentally. But, how many of us have walked the rocky path of life and not erred in the wrong direction at times?  And like that little tortoise in the old cartoons, we cry out “help me, Mr. Wizard” when we get ourselves into some hot water of our own making. (I’m showing my age with the wizard/tortoise example, but those who are familiar with the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show will know exactly what I’m referring to (it was one of my favourite shows as a child along with Shari Lewis and Lambchop, Warner Bros. cartoons and last but not least, Mickey Mouse and his entourage - Sunday nights were the nights that Disneyland aired here at 6.30p.m. and the only night I was allowed to eat my dinner in front of the television - great memories).

My parents were musicians, my Dad was exceptionally good and played in the backing bands for many of the greats who came here to perform, and the list is a royal lineage of stars from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. This early exposure to all kinds of people in the music industry is probably why I liked Boy George, he was different, he was unique and he was as colourful a character as anyone during that 1980’s time of fun music, even so it was moving in an odd direction with some performers (though even as a married mother of children, Cindy Lauper and David Bowie were two others of my favourites and who I was fortunate to see on stage in the 1980’s here in Sydney, Australia).

Thank the Lord YeHoVaH for His Grace extended to us and that despite our sins, past and present He is the salvation of ALL, not some, but ALL.  And He obviously likes Boy George or He wouldn’t have strengthened his heart and conviction for the Jewish people and inspired him to put it into a fabulous song for us all to get behind.

I’ve always liked Boy George, I know that may come as a surprise to many of you, but the man is talented, different (I always liked “different”) and has struggled through a destructive period of time in his life and come through it with flying colours. In his song to the Jewish people, he has laid out his standard for all to witness. He has lost his record producer who said he would have nothing to do with the song, so their decades long relationship has come to an end. He has lost “friends” who are not at all happy with his stance and yet, this sensitive man has said: So what! He knows those kinds of friends are not worth having. I couldn’t agree more. He was also asked to leave the latest production of Jesus Christ Superstar, supposedly, I heard because the producers of the show were concerned that there would be demonstrations and protests outside the theatre. What a bunch of self seeking morons!

So, mazol tov to you Boy George, your song is a tribute to the suffering of the Jewish people and you have raised your standard to fly it high above the naysayers and the murderous intent that accompanies the hateful rhetoric.

Stand strong Boy George, these Jews salute you! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻

Have a listen, it’s quite good and I found myself moving to the reggae backing music and singing along with him.
