Frequently Asked Questions
The Biblical Research Institute (BRI)
The Biblical Research Institute (BRI)
does not teach a sin-centred theology.
Any theology that centres in anything other than Yeshua haMashiach (Yeshua the Messiah) is a diabolic heresy.
Indeed the Biblical Research Institute (BRI) of the International Messianic Community of Faith (IMCF) may be a Messianic Work, replete with Jewish roots, but even Israel is not the focus of our theology. If your theological focus is sin, Israel, prophecy, the end times, finance, homophobia or any other theme you are guilty of holding to an heterodox theology.
What are the correct Jewish festival dates for 2026?
All of those whom the Lord YeHoVaH God has called from eternity to serve Him at this “conclusion of the present evil age” should desire to acknowledge His intention and purpose for the cosmos (and especially for the inhabitants of planet Earth) as outlined in the unique festival calendar given to Israel by the angelic powers of the Sinai period of ancient Israel’s history.
Devorah Gordon has advised us that the 1st Biblical Month of Nisan has started!
The crescent moon was sighted from Jerusalem on 20 March 2026.
Devorah has noted, “The beginning of the month is called “chodesh” (1 Samuel 20:5; Psalm 81:4[3]; Eziekiel 46:1), from the root ch.d.sh. meaning new, as the month begins with the crescent moon (Gen 1:14), i.e. when the moon becomes anew following the lunar phase of conjunction.
“And we know the Biblical Calendar is to be set according to the signs (Gen 1:14) in The Land (Dt 6:1, Dt 11:8-9, Dt 30:5), as the moadim (appointed times) are set holy days (Lev 23:4), to be observed as a nation, in the place the Creator placed His name (Ex 23:17, Ex 34:23, Dt 16:15-16, 1 Kings 11:36, Zech 14:16), not everyone celebrating on different days.
“As days in the Biblical Calendar begin at sunset, i.e. the end of the agricultural day (Gen 1:5,8,13,19,23,31), the Biblical Month begins when the crescent moon is spotted from Israel. The beginning of the Biblical Month is a celebratory day (Hosea 2:11), and was traditionally commemorated by blowing the shofar (Num 10:10; Psalm 81:4[3]), enjoying a festive meal (1 Samuel 20:5, 24), and worshiping at the Beit HaMikdash (Temple) (Isaiah 66:23; Ezekiel 46:1-3) with a special sacrifice (Num 28:11-15; 2Chronicles 2:3; Ezra 3:4-5, Ezekiel 45:17, Ezekiel 46:6).”
As a consequence of sighting the crescent moon, the Passover will fall Friday evening at sunset APRIL 3 and end Saturday evening April 4.
The Lord Yeshua’s Pesach Seder would be observed the evening prior to the daylight period of Passover — Friday evening April 3.
The Festival of Unleavened Bread begins Saturday evening April 4 and concludes Saturday evening April 11.
Shavuot (Pentecost) begins Saturday sunset May 23 and ends Sunday sunset May 24.
Yom Teruah (Rosh HaShanah) Day of Trumpets: If new moon is sighted on September 12, then September 12 at sunset to September 13 sunset is holy time. If the new moon is sighted on September 13, then September 13 at sunset to September 14 at sunset is holy time.
Yom Kippurim IF new moon is sighted 12 September then sunset September 21 to sunset September 22 is holy time.
If new moon is sighted September 13, then September 22 to September 23 is counted as holy time.
Sukkot: IF new moon is sighted 12 September then sunset September 26 to sunset 27 is the first holy day. If new moon is sighted September 13, then sunset September 27 to sunset 28 is the first day of the SEVEN DAY festival.
Sh’mini Atzeret (the 8th day of assembly, or Last Great Day) IF new moon is sighted 12 September then sunset October 3 to sunset October 4 is the concluding day of the Hebrew festival period. If new moon is not sighted until 13 September then this day falls at sunset October 4 and concludes sunset October 5.
The JOY of the Lord.
